4362(I)_Priestly Ordination in Korea

Seoul, Korea -- On April 20th, the Salesian Province in Korea held the fervent and joyful Ceremony of the Ordination of four Priests and one Deacon. Bishop Luc Van Looy SDB, Bishop of the Diocese of Gent, Belgium, who in his youth worked for some 20 years as a Salesian missionary in Korea, was the Celebrant, accompanied by some eighty Priests.
The newly ordained were the Frs Isidore Hong Hun Pyo, Andrew Lim Chi Sung, Pio Hwang Hyun Chol, and Francis Xavier Kang In Seok and the Deacon John Baptist Yu Sang Cheol. By this Ordination, all of them felt taken closer to the Heart of God, ready to work for the young with the Heart of Don Bosco.
Fr. Isidore Hong, Fr. Andrew Lim and Fr. Francis Xavier Kang spent the last two years of Theology with the confreres of different nations of EAO, at the International Seminary of Parañaque in the Philippines. Instead, Fr. Pio Hwang after finishing the Theology at the Diocesan Seminary of Seoul has been working for the young at the Center of the Salesian Youth Shelter Homes in Seoul. Dcn John Baptist Yu, while following his studies of Theology at the Diocesan Seminary of Seoul, was at the Formation Community of Dae Rim Dong, Seoul, helping in the educational and pastoral work for the young of that Community.
At the closing of the Ordination Ceremony, Fr. Isidore Hong pronounced a heartfelt talk thanking the many friends, who were present that day, for their fervent help and their prayers and promised to live as faithful sons of Don Bosco till the end.
