4856(I)_Don Bosco Cambodia tech teachers met in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 14 September 2018 -- The Don Bosco Technical School teachers of Cambodia met in the capital for an intensive training from September 3 to 14 at Don Bosco Phnom Penh. 58 teachers participated in the 10-days program, including representatives from Don Bosco in Poipet, Battambang, Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh.
Professors from the National Technical Training Institute (NTTI) of Phnom Penh led the training activities. Professor Tun Sompon, Head Manager of the Technical and Vocational Training Department, underlined the importance of the workshop for the Don Bosco technical schools of Cambodia, improving the methods of education for young people from vulnerable communities.
Most of the Don Bosco teachers were young women and men ready to undertake the responsibility of manage the technical curriculum of students. The workshop includes pedagogy and net experiences that teachers shared during the ten days living and studying together.
At the closing training program, Fr. Roel Soto, the Country Representative of Don Bosco Foundation of Cambodia, congratulated and thanked all organisers, teacher trainers and participants for giving their best efforts. He expressed his hope that teachers will be able to adapt their ways of teaching to the learning preferences of the new generation that are more purposeful, flexible, multi-tasking, tech avid users, interactive, visual & kinesthetic and risk takers.
