Melbourne, Australia -- On 16 June 2018, Saturday, we were privileged to host His Eminence Charles Cardinal Bo SDB and Fr. Noel from the Archdiocese of Yangon for a familial dinner at our Salesian community, Clifton Hill - Melbourne.
Special thanks to Fr. Rector and all our confreres for your warm welcome and availability. We are also very much appreciated for the presence of Mr Kevin Meese, Melbourne Director of Catholic Mission, and three of Burmese seminarians from the Archdiocese of Yangon who are currently doing their studies in Melbourne, Jude Albert Johnson, Simeon Valentine and Joseph Kyaw Lin Aung.
Thanks to our beloved chefs Bro. Thomas Kitsawad, Rev. Gutierrez Correia Bill and their co-helpers. Our heartfelt gratitude also to our Provincial Will Matthews. We miss you! It was really beautiful evening for all of us. Our international community is composed of Australian, Chinese, Timorese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Thai, Madagascar and Indian Salesians.
The visit of Cardinal Charles Bo in Australia brings to the spotlight the complex and challenging situation of Myanmar society and Catholic Church. Recent sharing of our Cardinal: https://zenit.org/articles/myanmar-cardinal-bo-explains-the-rohingya-issue/
