Tokyo, Japan, 10 January 2020 -- The Annual Salesian Family Joint Council was held on the 9th January, at the Salesian Seminary (Chofu City, Tokyo), involving 31 representatives from each group of the Salesian Family in Japan (SDB, FMA, SCG(Caritas Sisters of Jesus), ASC, ADMA, Unione (EXFMA), and EXDB, VDB was absent). During evening prayer (Eucharistic Adoration) in the chapel before the Holy Eucharist, as the Salesian family connected to Don Bosco, the participants prayed for the unity in this year.
Afterward, they surrounded the dining table with the SDB members of Chofu at the seminary cafeteria and spent a social gathering.
Fr Provincial Jacob Hamaguchi, SDB said, "I hope that this year, we will continue to work happily and generously, trusting and believing in the existence of the Holy Spirit, cooperating with each other with a warm attitude. Let us do our best so that young people, and also we can walk as upright citizens in society, imitating Christ.
The meeting finished with a blessing and the prayer to Mary Help of Christians by Fr Hamaguchi, and a lively chorus of Fr Cimatti's "Casetta di Don Bosco”.
