5751(II)_Course for the vocational trainees and the gathering of the Past Pupils
Don Bosco-Myitkyina, Myanmar, 22 December 2021 -- A full three-day course for the trainees at Don Bosco Vocational Centre was held by the youth commission of the vice-province of Myanmar, from 17-20 December 2021, in Myitkyina city (Kachin State). There were over 70 trainees able to take part in the event.
On the first day, Fr Andrea Maung Maung, SDB (the Social Communication Delegate) shared about the basic knowledge of Communication Models, and the advantages and disadvantages of the internet. In the evening, all the trainees played games in front of the building. On the second day, Fr. Camillus Suan, SDB (the Youth Ministry Delegate) talked about "Careers guidance and ways to success". In the evening, a joyful football match involving Salesians and the trainers against the trainees, took place. The Salesians and the trainers team won the competition. Furthermore, at night a programme of "Praise and Worship" was organised, and at the same time, many of the young people approached the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
On the third day, 40 past pupils of Don Bosco-Myikyina also came to join the event. Fr. Peter Luios, SDB (the Salesian Past Pupils Delegate) explained how the organization of Salesian Past Pupils came into existence, and its purposes. Afterwards, Fr. Camillus Suan, SDB also expounded on the meaning of the Rector Major's Strenna 2022. The event ended with a friendly football match of the Past Pupils and the trainees of Don Bosco Vocational Centre. The Past Pupils team won the match. The whole course was full of enthusiasm and joy. All the participants were able to create a Salesian festive presence to each other. We thank the Lord for giving us this opportunity to come together as a family, though we are, at the present, facing the political crises and of Covid-19 pandemic.
