(It
would also be worth noting, in the light of this news item, that on 6th
June the Rector Major gave an important address to key Salesians
gathered in Rome,
involved in professional, technical training and readiness for the
working world. This is currently being translated into English.

it is available, we will let you know where to find it).
Don Bosco Industrial Skills Training Centre 9th Graduation Day
Bro Andrew Tran le Phuong sdb
ULAANBAATAR
(Mongolia): 7th June -- On June 5th, a windy, dusty First Friday
morning greeted our 53 graduates: 6 sewing, 15 secretarial, 14 auto
mechanic, 11 plumbing, welding, 7 carpentry students from the 5
departments respectively. This year's theme: "It is good to dream
but it is better to make that dream come true", from Cagliero11
(Mission Newsletter) 11-05.
For the present, the Don Bosco Industrial Skills
Training Centre has 260 students. Next school year there will be around
70 Graduates.
The outgoing Salesian Provincial, Fr John Baptist
Nguyen Van Them, from Vietnam, happily welcomed the parents, guests and
graduates. He stressed the motto of the graduation, indicating that the
day would certainly be a happy one if all the graduates were to find
proper and stable employment.
The invited guest speaker was Mr. Batbaatar, Chief
of the Mongolian Government Employment Office. He thanked the school
for responding to the needs of the Mongolian market: producing skilled
and disciplined workers.
On behalf of the parents, one of the mothers
attested to and confirmed the many changes they continuously see and
discover in their children's behaviour, and attribute these
transformations to the educational system of Don Bosco.
After the ceremony, lunch was served to almost 300
people, after which all the graduates with the whole teaching and
non-teaching staff went to Zaisang, the war memorial park, and
Sukbaatar Square, where a large statue of Genghis Khan stands.
There they held all the picture-taking.
