Manila, Philippines - Today, September 11, 2015, Friday, the FIN Province, with the cooperation of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines (AMRSP) organized a FORUM ON THE RESPONSIBLE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN THIS ERA OF THE NEW EVANGELIZATION. It was participated by students, seminarians, and professed religious from various Catholic schools and religious communities.
The Forum was held at the Roozen Hall of the St. John Bosco Parish – Makati from 8:00am to 12:00noon. Fr. Francis Gustilo, former FIN Provincial, led the assembly to a short prayer to begin the activity. Fr. Paul Bicomong, the FIN Provincial, gave a very inspiring opening remarks.
Fr. Fidel Orendain of the FIS Province was the resource person for the first session. He developed the topic on Youth and the Social Media. After an hour of enriching input, the floor was open for Q&A.
After a short break, the Faithbook Team headed by Fr. Manny Marfori of the Diocese of Lipa, Batangas, together with Sr. Julie Micosa, MCSH, Ms. Mildred Malaluan, and Reann Dajao, presented the features of Faithbook.ph. It is an online help-guide to the Catholic Faith for any Catholic who wants to be enriched in his/her faith and who also wants to enrich others through his/her reflections and insights.
Inspired by St. John Bosco’s proactive involvement in the media ministry to propagate the Faith, the assembly was challenged by today’s forum to be evangelizers of the Good News as they get themselves involved in the world of social media.
