Bangkok, Thailand, 22 August 2019 -- The Salesian Social Communication Commission organized a meeting of the committee members of the Don Bosco Bulletin at the Salesian Provincial House of Thailand. The committee is composed of the representatives from the various members of the Salesian Family - the Salesians, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the Institute of the Daughters of the Queenship of Mary, the Religious Sisters of the Queenship of Mary, the Salesian Cooperators, the ADMA Group and the Alumni and Alumnae. Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil, SDB, the Bishop who heads the National Catholic Social Communications Commission, is the adviser to the commission.
This commission was established last year in order to manage together the Don Bosco Bulletin which is the bulletin of the Salesian Family in Thailand. The Commission aims to be professional, strong and unified. Usually this meeting is arranged twice a year. The important topic in this particular meeting is the 'Funding of the Don Bosco Bulletin'. This has been arranged since three months past in order to support the printing of the bulletin. The meeting proceeded well, and, at the end of the meeting, the Bishop presented a summary thought: "the Don Bosco Bulletin does not aim for profit; the Don Bosco Bulletin is a business for souls. We sow the seeds of goodness and the charism of Don Bosco to the readers, for which we do not know whether it would bear fruits and when it would bear fruits, because in the end what is left is the duty of God...God is the one who allows the seeds to grow..."
The Don Bosco Bulletin started to be printed in 1958, and up until now reaching 62 years old. The Don Bosco bulletin is printed every two months in Thai language with up to 5,000 copies.
