Salesian
Cooperators
in Indonesia renew promises
JAKARTA: 4 June 2012 -- The 3rd
of
June is an important day to remember for the Salesian
Delegation of
Indonesia. In a concelebrated mass in the Salesian
Post-Novitiate
Chapel in Jakarta at which the Provincial Delegate, Fr.
Yohanes
Boedihararjo Soerjonoto presided, a group of 20 members of the
Association of Salesian Cooperators renewed their promises.
One of the
concelebrants was Fr. Jose Carbonell, the pioneer of the
Salesian works
in Indonesia. The missionary Deacon Peter Ryan Vergouw, due to
be
ordained priest on the 15th of June, the Solemnity of the
Sacred Heart,
assisted during the mass.
The Cooperators renewed their commitment to live in the best
way
possible their evangelical project of life in the Church, in
society,
and in their own families. The Provincial Delegate urged the
Cooperators to be always united in spirit and in action, as
the Father,
the Son, and Holy Spirit are one in the same Godhead.
After the Eucharistic Celebration, the group had their photos
taken,
and then the fraternal agape followed with the Community of
the
Salesian Post-Novitiate.
The Cooperators in Indonesia are actively engaged in the
activities of
their own parishes, especially where helping young people is
concerned.
There are also several of them who are parents of Salesians.
There are
around 15 men and women who are now preparing to enter the
Association.
We request readers to pray for these Cooperators of ours that
with the
help of God’s grace and the strength that comes from the
Spirit they
may be always faithful to what they have promised.
