New Salesian Cooperator draft Regulations
ROME: 29th September 2005 -- It is an accident of
history, and because of a foolish pledge made in a moment of weakness
to a member of the Cooperators' World Council, that there is now an
English translation of the draft Regulations for the ASC.
Quite a number of readers of austraLasia are either
ASC memebrs, or SDB or FMA Delegates of local or provincial groups, and
they may well have been despairing of being able to contribute to the
vigorous debate raging over what is a complete overhaul of the earlier
Regulations. Despair no longer! If it needed to be done for
one, then the upside is that hundreds of others can benefit.
Worth stressing that this is a working translation
and while it has been made readable, and has tried to avoid some of the
easy traps that 'working translations' can fall into, it is not an
official translation, just as the draft Italian text is not yet an
official text. There will be errors, some of them pertaining to
the original and some of them introduced by the translator! But
if you needed an English text then today you are light years ahead of
where you were yesterday!
