Hard work needed
for success
by Fr. Ambrose Pereira sdb, Rector – Don Bosco
Technical Institute, Henderson
HENDERSON: 26 March 2011 -- “It is wonderful to see
all of you content and happy and doing your best”, said Br
Jess Garcia sdb, as he addressed the students at Don Bosco
on 21st March, 2011. Br Jess Garcia sdb, Economer of
the PNG-SI Delegation spent 10 days here in Solomon Islands
visiting the two Salesian Institutions – Don Bosco Rural
Training Centre, Tetere and Don Bosco Technical Institute,
Henderson. He took part in the various programs held,
had meetings with persons responsible and suggested better
ways of administration and management.
Drawing from the latest Oscar
winning film: ‘The King’s Speech’, he encouraged the
students to be aware of their mistakes, be open to the
guidance of the teachers and instructors and put in the
hours of hard work needed to overcome their drawbacks and
achieve success.
Br Jess was happy to look around
Honiara and together with Fr. Ambrose Pereira sdb, Rector,
Don Bosco Technical Institute, Henderson spent two days at
Auki, Malaita. They were welcomed by Bishop
Chris Cardone op, Bishop of Auki. He accompanied them
to Buma Pastoral Centre and made arrangements for a visit to
Dala Secondary School run by the Marist Fathers and
Brothers. It was impressive to note the pastoral and
educative initiatives and activities in the Diocese of
Auki. Bishop Chris Cardone op, was happy to share with
them his vision of a Technical Institute at Buma.
The Superior of the PNG-SI
Delegation, Fr. Raffy Galve sdb, will also make a visit to
Don Bosco at the end of March. _________________ AustraLasia
