-- Don Bosco Technical School Phnom Penh,
Cambodia - a home and school for many orphaned and poor youth of the country-
launched new agro technologies with a special training course on “Empowering
students in Agriculture and Husbandry Basics” from 15 November to 13
December 2004. The course was offered for eighteen students under the expertise
of Dr. Walter Zwick of the Senior Expert Service (SES) of
Bonn,
Germany. It was intended
to initiate an agricultural training course for the students in order to become
an extension service to farmers of the school’s neighborhood. Above all, it is
an assurance of FAITH (Food Always In The
Home) with increased production in vegetables, fruits, eggs, chickens,
pigs and fish for the 420 students, 120 teachers, instructors and support
personnel. Four Salesians administer the school. The SES program was made
possible through the support of the Salesian Missions Office,
Bonn,
Germany.
