Some Christmas gifts for you
ROME: 18th December 2008 -- "Silver and gold we have
none....", but two days into the Christmas Novena, rather than send you
all an electronic card, this time around, here is something a bit
different.
Over the months, SDL has been steadily building up
its resources as confreres from around the world have discovered it and
begun to suggest items to add. It is truly becoming a very rich
Salesian resource, and in some instances somewhat better than silver or
gold! But one matter we have not yet resolved is precisely how to
get SDL to alert its users to new items added. So for now, here
below is an indication of a range of items added in a variety of
languages. There is something there for everyone. Dip in
and see what might be useful for you - and accept it as a Christmas
gift!

These are not all that have been recently added, especially in the
English collection. There are regular items that get added to each
month as they come out (Mission Animation Newsletter from FIN would be
an example of this. The austraLasia collection has all (nearly)
austraLasias from the beginning making an interesting and rapidly
searchable 'history' of the EAO Region.
And, while we are at it, have YOU anything that might be added to this
vast collection now in excess of 200,000 items? Feel free to offer
something. We will obviously have to make a decision about including
it, but the parameters are very broad. Anything that can build up
the sense of belonging to the Congregation, record essential history,
provide materials for animation, Salesian spirituality..... there must
be so much 'hidden treasure' out there. Don't be shy!
