The 11th graduation of Don Bosco RTC Tetere
November 19, 2016
Tetere, Solomon Islands, 18 November 2016 -- The Don Bosco Rural Training Center (Principal Fr. Stefano Yu) with the whole EPC, Salesian Community (Rector Fr. Albert Lenon) and in the presence of Archbishop emeritus of Honiara, Adrian Smith, MC celebrated the 11th Graduation Ceremony of our Bosconians.
At the end of the two year course the Salesians share their sentiments as educators and evangelizers:
'Don' forget how many people worked and prayed for your graduation, nay, for your education!
What you have experienced in this Don Bosco School is not just agricultural skill or academic; rather it is mercy. It is what we want to teach you. We can't give you diploma or degree. Yet we have tried to let you know the sacrifices, good will and concerns of many people, your teachers, your parents, your fellow Bosconians and unknown humble benefactors. Please practice what you have received in this house of Don Bosco! Once again we have realized even though we would make this school higher institution as the world is doing, without an experience of mercy, it could be a nice institution, but not an effective evangelizing experience!
We will miss you!
The three Salesian strong SDB community composed of three SDB from three nations - Philippines, Vietnam and Korea is proud of their lay mission partners, their students and many supporters. Since the beginning of the DB RTC in Tetere, Solomon Islands more than 1000 Bosconians (majority out of school youngsters) did graduate this unique Vocation Training school. This is one of the major contribution of the Salesians to this thin Pacific country!
We hope that this deep Salesian satisfaction about the growth of youth in difficult situations may attract more missionaries in the EAO region to come and help the PGS (Papua New Guinea - Solomon Islands) Vice province!
