4080(III)_God has Blessed with a Baby Girl in Don Bosco, IDP camp
July 25, 2016
Gumbo, South Sudan, 25 July 2016 -- Dear Friends, Greetings. In spite of war and other problems in the country, life has to continue. I am sure, this is what happened. God has blessed our camp with a New Born Baby Girl.
So far, 2 mothers were blessed with new born babies.
St. Vincent de Paul Parish, run by Salesians of Don Bosco, have set up another camp for the IDPs (Internally Displaced People) who have come to our compound. Already the Old Camp consists more than 3500 Individuals.
At present we have more than 8500 Individuals, who have been registered (both the camps, New and the Old).
We are grateful to you all for your prayers and support.
Continue to pray for us and for the people. As we see and hear, things are not so pleasant. Lot of rumors and still many people are going away from the city.
The biggest problem is Food, the prices are so high, its difficult to buy the daily bread too. Just to give an example, one broom was costing before the conflict 15 ssp (South Sudanese pounds), now it costs 300 ssp. You can't even imagine!!!. Same thing with bread, one packet of bread costs now 120 ssp, before 10 SSP. Who can afford?
Hunger is everywhere!! People are tired of War and hunger too.
Yesterday, when we were talking with some old people, they were narrating stories, which we can't even think of! They are grateful to Don Bosco, at least in our camp, they are able to get one meal a day and some human respect and dignity.
We continue to hope and pray for peace.
I am grateful to all of you for your prayers and support.
Whatever, I had written, they are purely my own reflections and observations.
United in Prayers.
