3759(I)_Serpong - Zatti community for the specialization of Salesian Brothers
October 6, 2015By Fr. Ramoncito Padilla, SDB
Jakarta, Indonesia - More then two years after the foundation of this Salesian presence in Jakarta, the community for the specialization of Salesian Brother (Indonesia - Timor Leste) is living a calm and hard-working life style.
With their priest in charge Fr. Ramoncito Padilla and six Brothers (3 in perpetual vows and 3 still temporary professed) they enjoy the 15 minutes short distance from the Indonesian Technological Institute.
After the approval of the Rector Major in 2013 the community is trying their best to accomplish what Fr. Pascual Chavez recommended in the approval letter: "to strengthen the community consistency."
Before reach this new location in Serpong they have been living in the Tigaraksa (Tangerang) community and due to very long distance to any suitable University it was very hard to be consistent in common prayers and other formation programs.
Now with the help of 7 bicycles as their most suitable transportation they reach the University campus in 15 minutes very easily and their times for recollections, conferences, meals, prayers and work is very regular.
Serpong is one of the imporant places of the largest Delegation in our Region with 70 confreres (among them 25 priests and 10 perpetually professed brothers), majority young and in need of good Salesian and professional qualifications.
The brothers are getting their University degrees in mechanics, accounting, IT technology, civil constructions and other relevant fields of the Salesian mission.
