Myanmar, 9 October 2021 -- The annual Christian celebration of the Season of Creation 2021, which starts on 1 September and ends on 4 October, solemnly concluded in the Salesian Vice-Province of Myanmar with the online ecological awareness program which was hosted by Don Bosco Green Alliance Myanmar (DBGA-MYM) on 4 October 2021, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology beloved by many Christian denominations.
The Salesian communities as well as the youth and the members of the Salesian family across Myanmar enthusiastically participated in this moment of virtual ecological awareness program which was lively animated with hymns, ideo clips and talks, particularly on the themes of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si as well as the message of Rector Major Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime SDB on ecological education and spirituality. During the session, the individuals and the communities were mainly invited to further commit themselves to the ecological sustainability, particularly by establishing green campus programs and awareness campaigns in their different educational centers and organizations so that their institutions may become the educational models of care for the environment and for nature. The virtual program was successfully concluded with the active discussions and the sharing of how to implement the green campus programs in each community and the family.
