Br. Vincent SHINKAI passed away in Beppu

Beppu, Japan, 17 June 2016 -- Br. Vincent SHINKAI passed away in Beppu (Salesio House) on June 17, 2016 at 80 years of age, living for past 55 years as consecrated Salesian of Don Bosco.
One of the typical joyful, humble and always service available Salesian Brothers of Japan province was born 80 years ago in Fukuoka, his first profession on March 29,1961 and perpetual profession in 1967.
After his practical training at Salesio Polytechnic in Tokyo (1961-1964) he spent most of his busy and hardworking Salesian life in Kodaira Boys Town (Tokyo), in Don Bosco Editorial (Tokyo), in Nakatsu Boys Town (Oita-Kyushu) and finally for past 13 years (1997-2013) in Salesian High School (Yokohama). The autumn of his life (2013-2016) he spent in the house for senior Salesian in Beppu (Oita, Kyushu).
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 20 in the Salesian parish Church of Beppu, presided by the GIA provincial, Fr. Mario Michiaki Yamanouchi.
On his picture that will be distributed during the funeral we read the words of Jesus that characterized his whole life: ‘Well done, good and faithful servant, since you have been faithful in a few things, I will entrust you in charge of many things’ (Mt 25,23).
We pray for his eternal rest and for more Salesian Brothers vocation in Japan province.
