Salesian Mission Office in Korea is happy
Seoul, Korea and Palabek Refugee Camp Uganda, 22 August 2021 -- A new church is nearing completion in Covid times, thanks to the Korea Mission Office (Nanum) in Seoul, South Korea and Missioni Don Bosco in Turin, Italy. Sunday Masses are already celebrated with restricted participation in 14 locations – churches, chapels and under trees. Family Masses are celebrated on weekdays to increase sacramental participation and for the formation of Small Christian Communities (SCC). We (Salesians at Palabek) also have available many beautiful photos in high definition if you wish to use any.
We need to protect our faithful by avoiding Religious functions in crowded closed spaces - churches. However, we also need to see to the religious and spiritual needs of our Palabek people.
The best of our places of worship, Holy Cross Church, is nearing completion within our own Don Bosco compound within the refugee camp. We are grateful to Don Bosco Mission Office in Seoul, Korea (Nanum) and to Missioni Don Bosco in Turin, Italy for their support in the construction of this Church.
We give thanks to all our benefactors in the name of our Catholic community! Our people are very happy!
