3885_Feast of Don Bosco celebrated with Snow festival

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, January 24, 2016: Before the winter vacation (January 27, 2016) Don Bosco UB hosted Don Bosco’s feast. On January 23, 2016 more than three hundred youth gathered from all around Mongolian prefecture to commemorate Don Bosco. The festivity began at 9 in the morning with the Mongolian national anthem and opening talk of Fr. Andrew Tin Nguyen, SDB the Rector and Delegate of Mongolia. In fact whole program was organized in his initiative and leadership. In his short talk, he shared about the charism and dynamism of Don Bosco and his love and passion for the young people. “Don Bosco is alive today in you and through you,” he said. “We are supposed to be young at all times,” he added.
After his address to the youth, the one day basketball tournament began. During the short break of games colorful and lively dances were performed by the first year students. To make the day more interesting and exciting ‘lucky dip’ was played between intervals and at the same time the snacks were served.
At the end of the festivity all the winners were awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals in the presence of Bp. Wenseslaw Padilla the prefecture of Mongolia. The victory trophy was taken by Don Bosco Darkhan. Awards also were granted to the best student, the best teacher and the best performer.
The following day, on January 24, 2016, all the champions of various departments of the Don Bosco technical school went for snow festival outside Ulaanbaatar. They enjoyed skating and skiing whole day. The young people, who went, enjoyed to the full and all appreciated what Don Bosco is doing for them.
