Honiara-Tetere, PNG, 30 July 2017 -- We were lucky, that the first animation visit in the EAO region this summer started in Solomon Islands. Immediately after arrival on July 29 to Honiara, capital of SI, we welcomed Fr. Klement with 5 Italian volunteers (Fr. Eligio Caprioglio and 4 animators from Turin) and then was organized a family meeting with 25 teachers of both education institutions in Tetere and Henderson. We were encouraged to look for our students with the heart of Don Bosco and bring up the Bosconians 'for ever' straight from the first day our youth join Don Bosco school or training center.
On Sunday, July 30 there was a busy day in Tetere. After the morning Mass at 9 AM the parish leadership gathered for Golden Jubilee preparatory commission meeting of Christ the King parish (November 2017). Then our parish priest Fr. Albert Lenon brought our Regional to Sali, one 16 parish stations, to show one of the fruits of 50th anniversary preparation - a newly rebuilt chapel.
In the afternoon there was a face-to-face meeting with our Tetere RTC boarders and our visitor, followed by Pieta sisters snacks. Finally in the evening after a joint SDB - FMA Vespers was Salesian Family time, all present 6 FMA sisters and 5 SDB spent a meaningful time to share about present and future of our Salesian charism in Solomon Islands. Indeed the FMA sisters just concluded another 'Come and See' day with 20 girls in their Mazzarello Center.
One of the FMA sisters share her feelings: "Three words from the EAO Regional Councillor, Fr. Vaclav Klement to the Salesian Family of Solomon Islands....Communion, Accompaniment and Salesian Family. Today we got together to share Salesian Stories, prayers and meal in the presence of Fr. Klement at Tetere, Don Bosco RTC. It was a great evening, where Fr. challenged us all to accompany each other in community, the young that we deal with everyday, and of course all those that we come in contact with."
Next two days Fr. Klement will visit the diocese of Gizo upon the invitation of Bishop Luciano Capelli, SDB.
