Hong Kong, 25 June 2016 -- By the end of the school academic year, the Salesian Youth Ministry Office organized the Primary Salesian Youth Day for students of the 6 Salesian primary schools in Hong Kong. Over 150 students attended this annual event.
The youth pastoral theme this year is set around the sixth beatitude of Jesus: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Mt5:8) To let the young boys and girls understand the meaning of “purity” in a more comprehensive way, we adopted the word “respect”. And through different task games, participants learn to respect the mother nature, people and God.
Fr Lanfranco Fedrigotti, the Provincial, celebrated the Eucharistic adoration. In his closing remarks, he recalled his experience when he was preparing himself for the first communion together with two of his siblings, and the two resolutions of St. Dominic Savio when he made his first communion: “Jesus and Mary are my friends”, and “death, but not sin.” He encouraged the young participants to be a better man with the help of God’s grace.
