THE FIRST AND THE LAST - FEASTDAY
CELEBRATIONS
SUVA: 30th January -- On the eve of the Feast of
St. John Bosco, the by now much enlarged community of Don Bosco House Suva sends
greetings to the rest of the Salesian world as we celebrate First Vespers and
prepare for renewals and first profession tomorrow. Given our position on
the 180 degree meridian and the first landfall west of the dateline, we are
confident that we are the first in the world to be thus celebrating! Our
Brothers and Sisters a few hundred kms to the East in Samoa will, if they keep
their festivities going till Second Vespers (!), have the privilege of being the
last in the world to celebrate our Founder's feastday. And all within the
embrace of the Australian Province!
