August
2013 --
Salesian Brothers are already on the move towards Thailand
from across
most provinces, vice provinces and delegations in the EAO
region. Most
are expected to arrive at Hua Hin Salesian Retreat House by
the
afternoon or evening or 18 August. They will engage in a
series of
reflections and sharing on the history, pedagogy and
spirituality of
the Salesian Brother - a clear reference also to the upcoming
bicentenary of Don Bosco's birth.
Day One
will focus on forming relationships and building community; an
important part of this will be the presentation by the various
provinces on the EAO resolutions taken by Brothers in Cambodia
in 2006.
And of course there will be other, amenable moments of
exchange and
good fellowship, moments of reflection and prayer, and a
welcoming
dinner.
From the Second to the Fourth Day, Brothers will
reflect on the history, pedagogy and spirituality of the
Brother,
through a series of Lectio Divina (Fr Gustilo) and major
presentation
by Brothers (Day Two, Bro Michael Harris from AUL: Knowledge
of Don
Bosco's history in relation to the Salesian Brother; Day
Three, Bro JB
Thanad THA: DOn Bosco's pedagogy, Day Four, Bro Raymond Callo:
Don
Bosco's spirituality).
Day Five is expected to focus on high
quality formation. The Regional, Fr Andrew Wong will celebrate
the Mass
that day and then a series of sessions will follow on Brother
Frormation
(Fr Saldanha), specific formation (Bro Callo) and then
Brothers will
produce a summary of their thinking and their conclusions to
go forward
with.
The event will conclude with a Cultural Show at Siam Niramit,
Bangkok.
