PORT MORESBY: 20 March 2012 -- On March 17, 2012,
Fr. Eduardo Revilla celebrated his Golden Jubilee of Ordination to the
Priesthood. He is presently the Rector of the Savio Haus Aspirantate in
Boroko, Papua New Guinea. He was also a missionary
in the Philippines for a long time before coming over
to PNG. He first came to PNG from the Philippines in 1994. After six
years at Vunabosco, he returned to the Philippines. Then in 2007 he again joined the
PNG-SI Delegation.
We can say that the Lord has truly blessed their family because their
parents gave six of their children to the Lord as Salesian Religious,
four priests and two sisters. Fr. Lazaro Revilla, Eduardo's brother,
was a Provincial of FIN.
To celebrate this momentous event in the life of Fr. Eduardo, a solemn
Mass was held at the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Boroko. The
Archbishop of Port Moresby, John Ribat, MSC, DD and other priests and
religious also graced the event. Members of the Salesian Family: the
SDBs assigned in Port Moresby, FMAs, Caritas Sisters of Jesus, Salesian
Cooperators, Bosconians and friends all gathered to join in the
celebration. The aspirants of Savio Haus led the music and the singing.
After the Mass, there was supper and item presentations. There were
songs, dances and speeches.
Fr. Eduardo takes as his inspiration and motto: “The Good Shepherd lays
down his life for his sheep.”
