Agenda of PPDB General Assembly 2021

World Confederation
PPDB Online, 27 November 2021 -- Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the 6 year period requested by their World Confederation Statutes, the Past Pupils of Don Bosco spent the first day (26 November) of their General Assembly online. Among the 150+ registered members of the 6th General Assembly, more than 85 members came together for almost 3 hours.
From the studio on the outskirts of Bratislava (Slovakia), with the superb moderation - translation of Mr. Angel Gudina (former member of the World Presidency, 2015-2019) a further 250+ Past Pupils or Friends of Don Bosco were able to attend the LIVE streaming on YouTube (English).
Introduction: The EAO region young pupils from the Philippines, Solomon Islands, China-Hong Kong, Japan and Indonesia contributed to the opening prayer of this 6th General Assembly. Before the two pre-recorded messages of Fr Joan Lluis Playa and Br Dominic Nam the participants were delighted to get a short lively message from the 10th successor of Don Bosco, from Valdocco. The Rector Major offered 4 simple points of wisdom to the delegates, while he is now attending the Europe SDB provincials gathering at the cradle of the Salesian Family.
The second part of the first day was dedicated to 'reporting' from the 4 regions (America - Africa - Asia & Oceania - Europe) with some National Federation (Malta, Italy, Haiti) reports. What diversity among the continents: formation and more communion created throughout the American continent (online formation sessions during and zone-4 year congresses before the pandemic), dynamic solidarity towards the poor people (esp. during the pandemic) in many Asian federations or backed by European Union projects, a wide spectrum of initiatives for the young in Malta. The most senior Italian federation reports 6000 member groups in 135 local centers and 13 province federations - while one of the youngest federations (Haiti) reported for the first time in history at the venue about their successful Federation start with 10+ local centers.
15 November was also officially established the Pakistan Past Pupils National Federation by the outgoing World President and the enthusiastic past pupils from Lahore were very much in attendance and shared their thoughts on this first day through social media.
27 November is being dedicated to the reports of the President, Administrator and Secretary General together with preparation for the upcoming elections (the right to vote according the Confederation website has 33 participants) and any amendments to the Statutes.
