YOUTH GATHER IN ASIA AND PACIFIC

Archbishop Adrian Smith sm, Archbishop welcomed the Salesian initiative to

organize the Youth Day for the Archdiocese. The Salesians of Don Bosco got

together the Holy Cross and Kukum youth who organized the Youth Day '99.

The response of the youth was commendable. It is perhaps the first time

that Holy Cross hits the headlines because of a youth programme.

CALCUTTA - The 4th centenary celebration of Our Lady of Bandel is going on

with a

novena of celebrations. Yesterday (9th Nov) we had the youth day...

There were over 1,600 young people for the whole day function.

>From the neighbouring diocese of Krishnagar there were about 800

youth leaders.
