The Rector Major

I have opted to send you personally this information about my
health-situation in order to thank each and everyone of you very sincerely
and to give you some updating on how things are going.

After one week of my return to the Pisana, I can say that I am regaining
health rather well. Yesterday I could, with great pleasure, preside over
the Eucharist of the community of the Generalate on the solemnity of the
Transfiguration.

This week I will start radiotherapy, after which we will be able to
evaluate better the conditions and possibility to go back gradually to
work. In the meantime I am close to you all, especially to those among you
who are also in ill conditions or who are suffering, with my prayer and my
fraternal and fatherly solidarity.

I entrust to the Lord the course of my sickness and I ask you to continue
praying through the intersession of the Venerable brother Zatti. Everything
though should be done according to the will of God and for the well-being
of our Congregation.

I renew my thanks to all and wish that everyone may see his/her desires
fulfilled through the intersession of don Bosco.
