23 new Salesian novices, 10 first professions and 14 perpetual professions

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 14 August 2017 -- Summer is always a time for divine blessings upon the Salesian Province of Vietnam-Mongolia.
This year, they have been blessed with 7 newly ordained priest, one of them belongs to his destined missionary province [France]. Since 21st of July, 2017, they have been Salesians who will serve the poor youth with their priestly ministries as educators and pastors.
Almost three weeks later, the 14th of August 24, 23 new candidates were admitted to the second phase of Salesian formation when they start their spring time as Salesian novices.
It was also this group who served the Mass of first profession religious vows of the 10 new Salesians: five as clerics and five as Salesian Brothers, an ideal proportion for the two forms of Salesian vocation.
One day later, the solemn Feast of Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, 15th of August, more than one thousand people came for the Perpetual Profession Ceremony which took place in the newly constructed church of Xuan Hiep. Family members, friends and numerous priestly and brotherly Salesians enjoyed the atmosphere of devotion of 8 Salesian clerics and 6 Salesian brothers.
We pray for these young men who have pledged to follow Jesus Christ in the footsteps of Don Bosco. Facing numerous challenges to serve the needs of the young in the new society, they need our accompaniment in prayers and supports.
