4783(III)_A special gift to the Rector Major
Homeland visit of Br. Marino Bois, SDB
July 10, 2018
RMG, 10 July 2018 -- Due to the incoming EAO 2018 Salesian Brother Congress an Italian missionary in Korea, Br. Marino BOIS, anticipated his regular home visit to Val D'Aosta (Chatillon) in Italy. First few days he spent in his native place and then after finishing his spiritual retreat with Fr. Andrea Bozzolo at Avigliana (Turin) Br. Marino paid a short visit to the Rector Major in the new 'Sede Centrale Salesiana' at Via Marsala 42 in Rome.
Br. Marino was also lucky to meet one of his 37 batchmates (novitiate) after 59 years: Br. Cosimo Cossu, who is now in charge of the 'Camerette Don Bosco and Don Bosco Museum' at Sacro Cuore. For the occasion also came to Sacro Cuore most of the FMA (6) and SDB (3) from Korea resident now in Rome for their studies or apostolate. It was indeed a good family time of sharing!
However for our special visitor the best time was in the office of the Rector Major. Brother Marino presented to the Successor of Don Bosco his recent publication '50 Years of Don Bosco Youth Center in Seoul' (ed. 2017, Seoul, 3000 copies) with a short summary in Italian and English. This book was compiled and published with help of many Don Bosco Past Pupils and contains hundreds of documentary photos that capture the whole 60 year long Salesian history in Korea from the DBYC Seoul point of view. Just four months before the Rector Major animation visit to Japan and Korea (November 7-18) it's a meaningful gift to understand the charismatic growth in the land of the Morning Calm.
Thanks, Br. Marino - Kam sa hamnida!
