3619_One vietnamese deacon ordained in Africa

Nairobi, Kenya - In the Salesians community of Utume there was a deaconate ordination of eleven young Salesians from various provinces across Africa. The Mass begun at 10 AM and it was celebrated by Rt. Rev. Alfred Rotich, the Military Ordinariate, who ordained confreres to the order of Diaconate. Hundreds of People attended the event both religious and lay, including friends and families of the newly ordained deacons. The newly ordained deacons are; Ekugbah Chikezi Godwin, Koroma Augustine Fomba, Onwuzulu Ephraim Chibuzo, Oraegbunam Joseph and Utazi Chiemeka Matthew of AFW Province; Hei Abeje Zewede of AET province; Mathagu Henry Mwaniki, Omborwo Nicodemus and Owuor Eric Onyango of AFE Province and MuZa Simbarashe, John Musonda and Martin Nguyen of ZMB Province. Tha last one is, 32 years old, a missionary from Vietnam, sent by Rector Major in September 2009.
During the Mass, His Lordship Alfred Rotich advised the deacons to be men of service both to the Church and to the mission that will be entrusted to them while taking Moses of the old testament and Jesus as true models of service and unquestionable obedience to God. He thanked the Parents, the community and the Salesians of Don Bosco for the immense work of formation they have imparted to the deacons. After the Mass there was meal and recreation. The Provincial and the Rector of the community gave vote of thanks to all those who attended the ceremony.
