Myanmar Viceprovince
May 18, 2017
Anisakan, Myanmar, 17 May 2017 -- Almost all 38 perpetually professed Salesians of MYM Vice-province of Mary Help of Christians gathered in the newly transferred provincial house from Yangon to Anisakan for 4 full days (May 12-15) of Animation before the start of the new school year. The whole ongoing formation event was carefully planned and animated by the Provincial Fr. Charles Saw and his Council, with the EAO Team Visit 2017 resources and experience.
During 10 sessions the participants were enlightened about the Reshaping of our Salesian presences, Formation, Youth ministry, Social communication, Missions, Economy and Community Animation. More light means also more clearer vision in community building, consecrated life as well in the mission.
As part of the close accompaniment of the Vice-province was also present the EAO regional councilor, as attentive listener with short inputs of feedback according the need. At the end of the Animation days each newly composed local community members prepared their annual plan based on the various sector goals of the Vice-province.
The Vice-province of Mary Help of Christians is blessed with consistent vocation growth - next May 23 four novices will made their first profession in Anisakan and on May 31 another eight confreres will make their perpetual profession in Manila, Paranaque. Thanks to this blessing all 8 Salesian communities are becoming slowly more consistent and grow in quality. And the family spirit is a guarantee of charismatic growth, communion among the confreres as well in the Salesian family. MYM viceprovince has now 76 confreres (among them 5 Salesian Brothers) and 4 novices, with a large number of theology students out of the country.
