Mission Offices and PDO update in Rome

RMG, 22 April 2018 -- Last week (April 16-21) was in Rome held the first Salesian world wide seminar on 'Technology at the Service of the Mission' for the leaders and operators of the Salesian Mission Offices and PDO ( Planning and Development Offices) attended also by various foundations and other Salesian organizations involved in activities of communication, fundraising, and development. The theme was about digital marketing: "Technology at the service of the mission."
Sixty-five representatives from all five continents are participating at the seminar concluded on April 21, at the "Fraterna Domus" of Sacrofano, near Rome.
During four full days the participants were assisted by experts from New Rochelle (USA) Mission Office and learn about the use and opportunities of digital platforms, social media, coordination of social communication tools in the reach out, management and mutual communication with millions of benefactors of our 30+ mission offices around the world.
The partecipants appreciated especially the fundraising strategies, methods and experience with different categories of donors, exploring the opportunity of Salesian global networking and branding.
Among the 65 partecipants were present also 3 from FIS, 2 from FIN and one each from KOR and PGS province, both lay mission partners and Salesians SDB, including the EAO regional coordinator of Provincial economers Fr. Adriano Satura.
