4734(IV)_Annual encouragement on the provincial community journey
Myanmar Animation Visit 2018
May 23, 2018
Anisakan, Myanmar, 22 May 2018 -- We kept our EAO Regional Councilor rather busy during the 3 full days of 2018 animation visit. Each day spent in different location - Mandalay, Myitkyina and Anisakan and was able to meet almost all perpetually professed confreres of our Viceprovince between May 17-20.
First day was dedicated to the provincial council meeting in Mandalay Don Bosco, with a short animation about the incoming path of GC 28 "What kind of Salesians for today's youth?", Salesian Mission Day 2018 focused on Initial Proclamation of Jesus in the context of Technical education and EAO Salesian Brother Congress. In the same time we shared the journey of the Viceprovince after the 2016 visit of the Rector Major and the extraordinary visitation and animation by other General councilors.
Second day our Regional Councilor spent in the most northern community of Myitkyina, Don Bosco Vocation Training Center, that was chosen as the 'target' of 'Project of the 2018 Salesian Mission Day' at the level of the Congregation. A deep interaction with all 3 confreres, the new and old batch of students and interview with two Salesian Brothers present in Myitkyina was very fruitful. We were happy to show the slow but steadfast development of the infrastructures and vocation training program.
Third day was spent all in the Province center in Anisakan. Before our priestly ordinations (May 24) were present most of the Salesians and the short but intense interaction with Fr. Klement was about the Good Night Talk (about late Fr. Fortunato Giacomin), presiding the Holy Eucharist on the Pentecost Sunday, sharing the greeting with the Nazareth community 162 boarding students (grade 7-10) and finally the conference about the GC28 journey 'What kind of Salesians for the Youth of today' and 'One Salesian Vocation in two forms' - tracing the journey of the incoming EAO Salesian Brother Congress.
Fr. Charles Saw, Superior of the MYM Viceprovince shares the impression at the end of these 3 days: "Thank for the enriching presence of our Regional councilor among us. We envy his energetic and active way of going about things and try to imitate his enthusiastic cheerfulness. Also this time we were left with some energy to persevere in the Lord’s work among the poor. We are doing our best to keep the Salesian flag flying high, but with our limited means in human resources, we still have to work hard. We can count on the goodwill of everyone and in the same time we need a little more fraternal unity among ourselves..."
Our Viceprovince of Mary Help of Christians is united in these days around the celebrations of our Patroness and the priestly ordinations in Anisakan of our four young priests. Join us in thanksgiving and prayers!
