5710(II)_Welcome Back Home
Suva, Fiji Islands, 13 October 2021 -- After six months battling the spread of Covid-19 in Fiji, the government has lifted some restrictions and allowed religious services to resume at 70% capacity. For those who were still unable to take part, the Sunday Mass was live-streamed.
The first Eucharistic Celebration at St. John Bosco parish after these many months took place on Sunday, 10 October 2021. The Mass began with a moment of silence to remember all the deceased loved ones and Fr. Mika Leilua who passed away so suddenly a month ago.
The homily had one important message, that we are one family, that we need to learn to appreciate one another as a family and build the parish family anew. Parishioners who lost loved one during the Covid containment period brought wreaths, which were blessed after Communion.
People were very happy to be able to take part in the Eucharist after so many months. There is so much to be grateful to the Lord! With God’s help and the guidance of our Blessed Mother, we move forward. Praise the Lord!
