4007(II)_Don Bosco College – Canlubang Undergoes a Strategic Thinking Process
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” (C.S. Lewis)

Canlubang, the Philippines, 13 May 2016 -- In the face of the new Philippine educational landscape and after having served more than 50 years as a basic education, college and technical-vocational center, Don Bosco College – Canlubang underwent a process to chart its future.
Mr. Ho Sun-Yee, a Singaporean consultant of Decision Processes International for the Philippines, conducted a process briefing last February 11 and facilitated the three-day workshop last May 10-11 and 13 for thirty participants, composed of the local Salesian council, some members of the Provincial Council, lay mission partners in key positions as well as other consultants. In the three-day session, a new “driving force” was identified and critical issues were addressed in order for Don Bosco College to move forward and be relevant to the evolving industrial environment.
Fr. Chito Dimaranan SDB, a former Rector of Don Bosco Canlubang and participant, reminisced the number of strategic planning Don Bosco Canlubang has done in 1994, 1998 and in 2002. In one of his posts, he wrote: “Thankfully, the same forward-looking process of dreaming once more is now being done. Feeling hopeful once more.”
Indeed, the Strategic Thinking Process process merely opened minds and hearts but the hard work to be done will be a matter of will. As the input discussions started with the Marian feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and concluded on the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, the continuing guidance intercession of Mary will indeed be most needed in the actualization of the results.
