4175(I)_"We got license"
October 23, 2016
By Bro. Tony M. Caspellan, SDB
Makati City, Philippines, 21 October 2016 -- "We got license" seemed to be in the smiling lips of Fr. Dave Buenaventura, SDB, Center Director of Don Bosco Pugad, Home for Street Children and Migrant Youth and Ms. Marissa Manigbas, IMSA (Institute of Our Lady of the Annunciation), Social Worker (to Father's right). The center which caters to poor and needy migrant youth, 17 to 24 years old got licensed to operate as an NGO DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) migrant center.
To the call of the congregation for professionalization and qualification of Salesian presences, Don Bosco Pugad answered through undergoing the process required by the DSWD. Documents needed for licensing were manual of operations, profile of employees, financial plan and report, profile of migrant clients, occupancy permit, safety permit and updated safety permit: all doable but laborious tasks. Through the help of Bro. Tony M. Caspellan, SDB, Don Bosco Pugad Counselor, Ms. Manigbas and the DSWD Standards Bureau, the documents were promptly accomplished and completed. With these done and with the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls in our hearts and minds, the next stop is accreditation.
