4111(II)_Growing together as Salesian Family
August 23, 2016
Hong Kong, 23 August 2016 -- China province, as the Mother province among the EAO provinces, can share many valuable consolidated traditions in many sectors of Salesian life and mission. Among the shining examples is also the synergy of the Salesian Family. Every year there are two occasions at the provincial level - August meeting of the 'Provincial Consulta' (Advisory Council) and in January the joint study session for the Strenna of the Rector Major.
Also this year, last Sunday (August 21st) 35 members of the seven different groups of the Salesian Family came together in Hong Kong - Tang King Po School: SDB, FMA, Salesian Cooperators, ADMA, Don Bosco Past Pupils and Mary Help of Christians Past Pupils and VDB.
With the animating presence of Fr. Lanfranco Fedrigotti, CIN provincial and moderated by his Vicar, Fr. Andrew Fung during the 4 hours long meeting were tackled two important topics - about the expectations of the Salesian Family Council (Consulta) and about the role of the respective SDB of FMA delegates to the different groups. Treasuring the continuity, 2009 meeting minutes with the same two topics were distributed and discussed among the members.
Majority of the participants from Hong Kong and Macau shared also about the present commitment and challenges of each group as well the possible joint formation and mission for the young people.
The whole meeting was concluded with the Vespers in the Tang King Po Parish of Mary Help of Christians where is now present the EAO casket of Don Bosco.
