austraLasia #3498 Re-echoing
the 27th General
Chapter:
A way to start the FIN
Bicentenary
Celebration
MANDALUYONG: August 25, 2014
–
The
Salesians of Don Bosco in the
FIN Province gathered today at
Don Bosco Technical College,
Mandaluyong City, for their
Quarterly Recollection. The main
objective of this recollection
was the re-echoing of the
General Chapter 27 by two of the
FIN capitulars, Fr. Alex Garces
and Bro. Mon Callo.
The day began first with the
Holy Mass at the school main
chapel that was presided by Fr.
Klement Vaclav, the EAO Regional
Superior who is currently in the
FIN Province for his animation
visitation. Concelebrated by all
the SDB priests present, the
Mass was animated by the
Post-novices and the students of
theology.
After the Mass, there was a
brief presentation of the
monthly highlights that will
happen in the province,
celebrating the 200th birth
anniversary of St. John Bosco’s
birth. The presentation was then
followed by an inspirational
talk from Bro. Efren Umandal who
is leaving for Ethiopia soon.
Then, Fr. Paul Bicomong, the FIN
Provincial Superior, gave his
remarks and officially launched
the Bicentenary of Don Bosco’s
birth.
At 10:30am, everyone gathered at
the school Auditorium for the
re-echoing of GC27. Fr. Garces
and Bro. Callo gave their own
personal experiences, insights,
integrations, and reflections on
the main points of GC27
document.
At 12:30pm, everyone proceeded
to the school gymnasium for a
sumptuous lunch. After this,
each local community assembled
to its assigned classroom for
the sharing of one's own
reflections and insights based
on the talks of Fr. Garces and
Bro. Callo.
By 2:30pm, everybody gathered
once more in the main chapel for
the midday prayer to formally
end this day’s quarterly
recollection.
