A
Silver Jubilee of Priesthood - a special
'take' on Christmas
Fr Mario
Yamanouchi
HAMAMATSU: 24 December 2012 --
"The
presence of a God who carries out his plan of salvation
through those
whom he has chosen has filled us with his love, peace and
joy". These
are the words used to describe not just a 25th anniversary of
ordination, but one that holds a family together from across
the globe,
and, so close to Christmas, expresses a true 'coming of the
Saviour'
into the lives of so many people.
There was much emotion in an atmosphere of communion and
fellowship.
The Hamamatsu community brings many nations together
(Japanese,
Brazilian, Peruvian, Filipino, Vietnamese, and others), and
this
cultural diversity and wealth was represented in the
celebration of the
Silver Jubilee Mass of ordination of Fr Angel Yamanouchi, and
also int
he meal that followed and the various artistic presentations.
The Yamanouchi brothers, Angel and Fidel had been together
since their
early school days in Argentina and on into the aspirantate,
along with
Fr Mario Llanos who is currently a professor at the UPS. The
three were
ordained together on 19 December 1987 in Cordoba, Argentina.
On this occasion Frs Aldo Cipriani (Provincial), Mario
Yamanouchi (Vice
Provincial), Evaristo Higa and Doan Tan Hien (confreres in the
community) joined with the Yamanouchi brothers' mother, Mrs
Cecilia
Michiko to celebrate. The only one missing was Fr Mario
Llanos.
We give thanks to God for the gift of the priesthood and to
Mary Help
of Christians for her constant motherly protection.
