World Aids Day (1st
December 2008): Salesians in Cambodia take 'preventive' approach
PHNOM PENH: 2nd December 2008 -- The Don Bosco Children Fund
Secretariate has marked HIV/AIDS Day, a worldwide event, under the
heading of 'Stop AIDS - Remember the promise', as part of its
WAD-Funday 2008 celebration on November 29-30. Four hundred and
fifty-five children and adults from PLHA* areas came together to
organise the Salesian response, 'Education to life'.
Sixty leaders, all Don Bosco students and staff,
organised various educational activities with games, group dynamics,
action songs and talks to explain the Salesian commitment to prevention
and control of HIV/AIDS in Cambodia. The Hon. Jose Cabrera III
from the Philippines Consulate, was guest of honour.
A visit to the country's famous Tamao Zoo enabled
all PLHA clients to remember WAD 2008 as a meaningful and unforgettable
FUNDAY 2008.
