CHINA: SALESIANS HONOURED BY STAMP ISSUE
Peter Newbery
HONG KONG (29th January): -- The first Salesian work in Hong Kong, St.
Louis School, has been honoured with a souvenir 'First Day Issue' from
the Postal Service in that city. The stamp issue acknowledges 70 years
of activity by the Salesians of Don Bosco in St. Louis School. The
First Day Cover shows thumbnail photographs of all 14 Salesian
principals on one side, and a brief history of the College on the
other. Fr. Simon Lam, the present principal, claims that St. Louis
School has the profile that it now has because it has stuck by 'the
spirit of St. Louis', a cluster of virtues that its staff and students
have consistently embodied.
