RELPACNEWS NOW IN COLLABORATION WITH SIGNIS
PACIFIC
Julian Fox
SUVA: Aug 20th -- RelPacNews (RPN), an email news
service for the Island Pacific that came into being just two
years ago, has been invited into collaboration with Signis Pacific, the Pacific
Chapter of the World organization for Catholic Communications. Signis
Pacific now promotes RPN items on its own website to be found in English and
French at http://signispacific.org/news
(English) or http://signispacifique.org/nouvelles (French).
As the developer of the Signis Pacific website put it in a letter to RPN
recently, 'I do not know of a regular source of Catholic news in the Pacific
other than you'. He is correct, though it might well be added that a
prominent and effective media person, likewise a Salesian, can be found in Fr.
Ambrose Pereira, director of Catholic Communications Solomon Islands.
Ambrose is also well-featured on the Signis website! It would seem that
the Salesian input into communications in the Island region (we note, too that
Fr. James Adayadiel is the editor/publisher of The Tautai in Samoa) is alive and
well.
'austraLasia' readers by and large are not
recipients of RPN, but take a look at the English website indicated above and
you can keep in touch there too.
