Mothers Day at Don Bosco Oratory Sampran, Thailand
SAMPRAN: 13th August 2008 -- Mothers Day in Thailand is chosen to
coincide with the Queen's birthday. On Sunday 10th August 2008,
Don Bosco Oratory Sampran offered support to the gratitude of children
to their mothers with a series of activities.
Some 70 boys and girls and around 20 mothers came to the oratory that
day for the festivities which began with praise to Mary the Mother of
God, example for all mothers. Then a representative of the
mothers shared something of her life and ways of caring for her
children. This was the signal for all the children to go to their
mothers and offer them some flowers and appreciative words.
Following the formal ceremony, the oratory
assistants, who include a wide range of young men in initial formation
(SDB prenovices, novices and those in temporary profession, FMA Sisters
and aspirants, DQM pre-novices and Capuchin prenovices), set in motion
the various plays and dances prepared by the children under their
supervision.
As Brother Anusit Chanphen Anthony sdb, the author
of this news item and third student of philosophy at Sampran puts it:
"We believe this activity is important for everyone, because each of us
has a mother. Mothers Day certainly helps our children in the
oratory to love their mothers and express gratitude to them every day
of their lives".
