Comoro – Don Bosco, Postnovitiate community Dili, Timor-Leste, TLS 25 November 2019 -- On 25 November, when we remember and pray for our deceased parents in memory of Mamma Margaret, we received an animation visit from Fr. Filiberto Gonzáles Plasencia, the SDB General Councillor for Social Communication. After celebrating the Eucharist in our community dedicated to Blessed Salesian Brother Artemides Zatti, Fr. Filiberto shared with the 40 Salesians of our community his reflection about the main benefactors of the Salesian Congregation – our parents. Indeed, they have offered their sons for the Kingdom of God and for the salvation of the young people, especially the poor and abandoned.
Then our Postnovitiate formators invited Fr. Filiberto to our multipurpose hall to share on the theme: ‘How to communicate’ with the young, with adults and with seniors. The SC Councillor explained a few basic principles - always communicate with respect, within the Salesian identity and vocation. Don Bosco was a holy educator, evangelizer, but also a communicator of God’s love for the young. As Salesians we are invited to be joyful communicators of the Gospel in the Salesian Congregation. We treasure his three key words for each communicator: ‘Transparency – Authenticity and Responsibility’.
