Ky Anh, Vietnam, 6 December 2016 -- The cool atmosphere at Don Bosco Vocational Center of Ky Anh in late Autumn suddenly became “hot” in the night of Grand Final. After one month of the qualifying and semi-final rounds, on the evening of 04 December 2016, nine contestants competed for grand final results.
In front of the judges – consisting of Salesian fathers and brothers – and the audience, the contestants had excellent performance. The audience showed their appreciation through continuous rounds of applause while watching various beautifully-performed items.
After one hour of competition, the judges were able to announce the names of the winners for Grand prize, second prize, third prize and consolation prize. The Grand Prize and Championship went to Mai Anh Nhat, a grade 11 student, for his excellent “MC” item. The second prize went to Nguyen Quang Dan, a grade 11 student, for his skillful performance with Harmonica while drinking water. Nguyen Van Ca, a grade 10 student, received the third prize for playing the flute.
KY ANH’S GOT TALENT 2016 aimed at creating a joy-filled playground for boarding students in various hostels and encouraged them to develop their talents. In the Good Night Talk, Father Rector Tran Quoc Tuan invited the students to keep on developing their talents and put them into the service of others with zeal and humility. The art-filled program ended with success, joy and great fun. The students look forward to the next contest with eagerness.
The Salesian Presence of Hoa An, Viet Nam - The Third Christmas Foothball League 2016
Hoa An, Vietnam, 5 December 2016 -- The third Christmas foothball league of Hoa An Parish offially opened at 2pm on Dec 4, 2016. The league will happen from Dec 4, 2016 to Dec 18, 2016. Presence at the openning rite is Fr. Jos. Ngo Xuan Tin, sdb, the parish priest of Hoa An Parish, and Fr. Martin Mai Quyet Thang, sdb the Assistant Parish priest, salesian brother Paul Le Minh Luan, sdb, and the president of the Hop Duc commune, and also the head of the village Lo Noi, and all the members of the pastoral coulcil of the parish, and all the leaders and members of different foothball teams. There are six teams participate in this year Christmas foothball league: two teams from the Hoa An Parish, the team of Tien Luc parish, the team of Hop Duc commune club, the team of Hoa An village, and the team of Hoa Minh village.
A special thing of this year event is that the foothball field was totally improved even the lighting system. This is the great efford of the whole parish.
This year league, the organizers want to gain following objectives: 1) Offering a healthy playground for the young on the occasion of Christmas. 2) Helping all participants to be conscious about building up relationship and working together. 3) Training discipline, solidarity, loving and serving each others.
In the openning words, Fr. Jos. Ngo Xuan Tin, sdb emphasized on the kind behaviors should be expressed during the league and in life. The head of the referee team salesian brother Paul Le Minh Luan, sdb expressed the desire to manage different matches. Particularly, this year the organizing team invited Mr. Tran Quang Hoa is a referee of the province level to observe in this league. After that the captain of Hop Dưc commune team represented for all the foothball players to share and to lead the saying of oath to fairplay.
