4467(III)_Church experience of past 50 years on the edge of evangelization
Initial Proclamation Seminar - EAO and South Asia (II)
August 15, 2017
Sam Phran, Thailand, 14 August 2017 -- While we celebrate the Assumption of Our Lady to Heaven (August 15), the first full day of the Seminar on Initial Proclamation in Sam Phran, Thailand was a wonderful experience of digesting the Church experience of past 50 years on the edge of evangelization.
Main theme of the first full day was dedicated to personal, group and assembly reflection on the past 10 years long journey of the Salesian Family about the Initial Proclamation of Christ. Fr. Alfred Maravilla, provincial of PGS, presented the journey of reflection that emerged since 2009 in 8 different continental and global encounters about the Initial Proclamation of Jesus done together by SDB, FMA and other groups of the Salesian Family. Before the seven groups workshop started the participants had a good time for personal reflection and digestion.
Each one of the seven groups was entrusted with one chapter:
The moderator of this Seminar, Fr. MC George and the seven group leaders don't spare energy for a vibrant warming up,action dance and creative inputs of many participants. The hosting Thai FMA province with their lay mission partners provides high quality media coverage of the whole event (Photos available at Flicker THA-FMA. Also the participation of few lay mission partners and larger numbers of SDB confreres from Thailand - Cambodia and Laos makes the whole event more dynamic.
Meanwhile on the Solemnity of Mary's Assumption (August 15) the 80 participants in Thailand remember in a special way: the Silver Jubilee of ordination of Fr. Alfred Maravilla (PGS provincial) with the Feastday of Sr. Maria Assunta Inoue Sumiko (FMA Visiting General Councilor). On this special day also in our Region we remember also
Happy Feastday of Mother Mary!
