Daejeon, Korea, 5 November 2017 -- Last November 4-5 was held the already traditional semestral encounter of Mamma Margaret Association in Daejeon, Salesian Youth Center with the participation of 60 parents of SDB aspirants, prenovices, novices and professed confreres from all around Korea.
The Association of Mamma Margaret was founded in Korea already 18 years ago, when the late Fr. Juan E. Vecchi make known around the Congregation the experience started in Uruguay after the 100th death anniversary of Don Bosco in 1988.
At the provincial level there are organized two semesteral meetings, one at Naeri (Novitiate) and one in Daejeon (former Novitiate). Mamma Margaret Association aims at letting know our parent who they can contribute in different ways to the Salesian mission, Salesian family and helps to understand the religious life especially in the case of the candidates or confreres in initial formation.
Through a sharing and prayer in the family spirit many parents, sometimes even non Christian, learn how to share in the life of their sons, who are walking with Jesus in the consecrated apostolic vocation for the young. Through mutual sharing among fathers or mothers circle they learn from each other personal experience.
During this meeting was present also Fr. Stefano Yang, SDB provincial of Korea, and the local SDB and FMA community of Daejeon - Chonglimdong did they best to make the parents feel at home during their 1 night two days encounter.
We are one family!
