The
all-inclusive preventive system
TAINAN and BUENOS AIRES: 24
October 2012--
Two videos expressing a very similar idea, both very
interesting in
their own right, make today's rather engaging news item once
you have,
of course, viewed both!
At any rate, settle down and watch the two videos, one in Chinese,
the other in Spanish,
but the common language is the Preventive System and the
common factor
in both is that all the staff of both schools (and a good
numebr of the
pupils) are included as characters in the videos.
Philip was a former student of the Tainan school and in fact
was
baptised there as a student, before subsequently joining the
Salesians.
He is keen on video production. You could also watch a
third video of his, again all in Chinese but very
entertaining.
Kids and teachers and their relationship don't alter all that
much from
country to country! The 'teacher' in this instance though is
someone
who just wants to be a teacher and decides to give it a try -
he
doesn't really know quite how to go about it!
The Argentinian version makes a point of showing the entire
school
playing the same tune and singing the same song - very nicely
put
together by Fr Edward Meano SDB under the heading of 'Signs of
Love'. He writes in its regard thus:
Videoclip on the theme of "Ser Signos De Amor" (Be Signs of
Love) by
Eduardo Meana for the community Mass at the Salesian
Pío IX House (29
October 2010).
More than 50 individuals were recorded, including al the
distinct areas
of the House and each contributing his or her grain of salt,
so to
speak by playing an instrument or singing. This is how we
create
community, all different but integrated, continuing the
mission of
accompaniment and putting the boys in the House at the centre
of it
all; they are the key players, the ones to whom we are sent.
There is one more video you might really enjoy - it takes the
technical aspect of what you see in the other two to a much
higher
level, and the inspiration is of course not particularly
religious but
the result is most inspiring! Eric
Whittaker's
talk on TED.
Enjoy!
