4675(I)_Brother Zatti might become a Saint
Investigation of the presumed miracle through the intercession of Blessed Artemide Zatti
March 21, 2018
Patagonia, Argentina, 15 March 2018 -- "Salesian Brother Artemide Zatti who lived for 49 years in Viedma (Patagonia - Argentina) and was Beatified in 2002, might become soon a Saint, if the presumed miracle that happened in the Philippines would be confirmed by the Congregation for the Saints." - This is the essence of the article published last March 15 in the Rio Negro newspaper (Patagonia - Argentina).
Indeed Brother Artemide Zatti who lived between 1902 and 1951 in the capital of Rio Negro - Viedma (Patagonia, Argentina) is already known and venerated among the people as the 'Holy nurse of Patagonia and the Saint of the sick'. Present bishop of Viedma, Salesian Esteban Laxague does cherish a strong devotion and respect to this holy Brother of Viedma, since 'he lived always thinking how to help his neighbors and dedicate his whole life to the poor and sick in the city of Viedma y Carmen de Patagones, always moving on his bicycle'.
Today (March 15) Viedma remembered 67 years of his death. According Bishop Esteban 'Viedma citizens should be mobilized more then ever by the model of "Don Zatti' (Brother Zatti in Spanish), since he was higly committed within the local society starting from his profession as nurse - infirmarian, especially dedicated to the poor!'
Indeed first miracle for the Beatification happen in 1980 to that time Salesian theology student Carlo Bosio (later on SDB provincial) and was the motivation for the Beatification of Br. Zatti by St. John Paul II in 2002. Now another presumed miracle is being investigated in the Philippines (diocesan stage of the investigation) and it looks very serious (according the rumours from the Philippines).
Possible canonization of Br. Zatti would remind the whole Catholic community worldwide about the love for the poor, showing the way how to meet Jesus in the sick people: 'Please, prepare the cloth for 12 years old Jesus! or Do you have ready the hot soup for 10 years old Jesus?
We wish all Salesian family members both in Patagonia - Viedma and in the Philippines that the investigation about the presumed miracle will bring many pastoral fruits for the growth in faith and charity amongst the Catholic comunity and beyond.
